Manchester Christmas Markets

If you live near Manchester it is a tradition to go to the Christmas Markets in December (or November if you're feeling particularly festive.)

I like to go multiple times with all of my friends, partly because the food is amazing and I can't eat a crepe and a chocolate marshmallow stick all in one trip can I? ( I could), but also because I just really love them, it makes me so exited for Christmas!

I went along with my friend the other day, we had freshly made pesto pasta and tomato pasta and then a chocolate covered banana - amazing! We also saw three men dressed up as the three pigs, tails and snouts included. We saw lots of lovely Christmas decorations and some really unique gift ideas.

Where are your favourite Christmas markets?

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

* Yankee Candles - ScentedCandleShop.com

This has been my first delve into the world of Yankee candles! I always see so many lovely looking ones on Instagram, blogs and Youtube accounts, but for some reason I have never bought one for myself... although I have been to known to send them as gifts (they make good Christmas pressies).

So when The scented Candle Shop got in touch to see if I would like to try out some of their Yankee Candles I was very excited! I chose two very festive scents because I just love all things Christmas related, so Warm Spice and Spiced orange made their way to my doorstep a few days later.

They smell so lovely when you first open the lid, they are very sweet and definitely make me think of Christmas. With a lot of candles I have found that they smell very nice before you burn them but once you light them you can't smell it, but with these candles they make the whole room smell lovely! That's the most important part to me, whether you can smell them when they are burining (although I don't mind a pretty jar).

I would definitely recommend these gorgeous candles, and they are currently on 'Save 10%' so they would be perfect for Christmas presents for family and friends. I would love to know your Yankee candle recommendations!

What I got for Christmas

IMG_5665Good evening lovelies! Sorry I haven't blogged in so long but a few weeks ago my Cat 'The Fluffster' (Ben) went missing and I was too upset and worried to even think about blogging. I was absolutely beside myself as he is like my little baby, he sleeps around my shoulders and tucked under my duvet at night!

I really didn't want to give up hope but I couldn't stop my mind from wandering and thinking of the worst! We put up lost posters around the village and also put leaflets through peoples doors. Luckily after 8 days one of my neighbours knocked on our door and said they had seen a cat on the windowsill in their shed and when they opened the door he ran off. Then about 10 minutes later in came Mr Fluffy through the cat flap and both me and my Mum cried with happiness!

Anyway onto what I got for Christmas! My main present this year was an Ipad mini in White, I absolutely love it and I still need to buy a case for it. I got lots of other pretty bits and bobs including a Cath Kidston Mug, accessorize gloves, a cute fox phone case, festive socks, an Ipad stand, rose cupcake cases, and some gorgeous magnetic heart pegs by Kirstie from 'Kirsties homemade home'. I got a few more bits and bobs which are still downstairs or have been eaten already (woops!). I actually got the fox slippers before Christmas but I thought they were too cute to leave out. I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas!

When you first took my hand on a cold Christmas Eve

IMG_5616 Good evening lovelies, I am currently listening to 'Fairytale of New York' so hence the title! This weekend we pust up the Christmas decorations. This has made me very excited as Christmas is my favourite time of year. I love baking mince pies, and just generally having the house decorated. I also got my advent calendar on the 2nd december, this took a special trip to Cheshire Oaks as all the local shops had sold out, but alas it is now hung up on my wall in all it's glory!

We decorated the tree on Saturday evening, but this year we can't put any of our pretty glass baubles on it as Daisy ,one of my Cats, likes to eat them! Last year she managed to bite through one so we thought it best not to use them this year. We also had a bit of a disaster with the lights, the lights from last year had stopped working so we got some new ones from B&Q, but they didn't look very nice when we put them on the tree, they were all cold and glary looking (this is why in one photo the light's are white and in another coloured). So then we had to get some coloured ones but this was all they had left that were Cat proof, as they also like to bite through the lights. But at least we have a decorated tree! Oh and it has gaps in the branches because the cats also like to climb it and they have snapped!

I also just wanted to know, do you all like these types of posts where it's photographs mostly of things I have done/ places I have been, or posts more like I used to do about beauty buys and things? Personally I prefer these type of posts as the photography is the part I enjoy most.

IMG_5540 Good evening lovelies, sorry for the lack of posts this week but I have been so busy getting ready for my handamde jewellery sale, photography coursework and just everything in general!

Yesterday I went on a trip to York with my Mum, I had been pestering to go ever since our last trip about a year ago! It is one of my favourite places, it had bubble glass windows, cute little shops that sell bunting and metal hearts decorations, a Cath Kidston, a Joules and just hundreds of tiny adorable shops. I made sure I took my camera with me this time so I could take some photos for my blog. I was going to split this into two posts as there are so many photo's but I like posts with lots of photo's so here you go.

I had the best time, we went to  little cafe to eat when we got there and I had a tuna and cheese focaccia with salad and a hot chocolate. It was absolutley freezing (infact according to my phone when we got up in the morning it was -3c and it never reached over 0c all day!) and it even snowed for us which just made the trip even more special!

I'm your little scarlet, starlet Singing in the garden

scrap book

Magazines
Good evening lovelies, today has mostly consisted of everything floral, artsy and photographic. Not that I'm complaining because these are my favourite sorts of days. I have made some little jewellery pieces for a sale I will be doing with my friend in early December.  I flicked through the Laura Ashley magazine, I just love looking through these and getting inspiration for my bedroom. I also looked through this little christmas ideas magazine, it is so cute.

I have also started making a scrapbook from a few of the photos I have saved from my Tumblr, I'm using an old book from a charity shop and painting the pages white. I want to decorate every page with beautiful lace and tea stained envelopes, and maybe even old maps.
