Hair of the day - loose curls

Today's hair of the day is inspired by my new found love for Gossip Girl, with 1 months free subscription to Netflix, it's a race against time to finish the series before the end of the month! Both Serena and Blair always have lovely curly hair that looks very glossy, alas mine is not glossy due to many years of hair dying but I can curl it!

To create this look I used my Babyliss barrel wand and took medium sized sections of hair and wrapped them loosely around the wand. When I had done all of my hair, I used my fingers to brush through it and make the curls drop slightly. I didn't want to use any hairspray because I wanted them to look quite natural.

What's your favourite series to watch on Netflix?

How to do a doughnut bun

Tie your hair up in a pony tail
Pull your hair through the doughnut and spread it over it
Stretch a bobble over the hair and around the doughnut ring
Start to clip the strands around the base of the bun
Make sure all the ends are clipped in and secure and spray it with hairspray
Ta daa! (I missed a bit which is annoying, grr)

This should work for any hair lengths as long as you can get your hair into a bobble and around the doughnut. It was easier when I had longer hair as the ends weren't so thick but it is still manageable! Sorry the quality of these gifs isn't great but the quality was reduced when I uploaded them.

Time for a snip

I think the time has come that I need to get my haircut! The ends are dead and to be quite honest, I can snap the ends off that's how bad they are :| Due to me dying my hair so often, always straightening or curling it etc it has become quite damaged. Here is a photo of how it looks now, you can probably tell it's in really bad condition! (just to make clear... the plane poster is not mine and neither is the fish tank, I'm still in the process of swapping rooms)
After looking at photos of hairstyles on the internet I have decided I would quite like my hair like this
I really like Mileys hair here, the cut and colour so hopefull I won't chicken out and will get mine done like this, I would love to know your opinions and if you think I would suit it, or any others you think might look better!

I would also love it if you could all take a look at Joni's blog! Joni sent me a lovely email and after some chatting I offered to do a blog design for her. I have just finished doing it, including the header and blog button and she is so lovely so It would be great if yuo all followe dher and left some lovely comments :)

(By the way I tried to change my blog name like I said but it wouldn't work and when I clicked on my blog link it had dissapeared)

From brown to blonde

This is my hair before (it's an old piccy, but my hair colour was exactly the same)

I have finally got round to dying (well bleaching) my hair. This post is long overdue as I said I would do it ages ago, but then they didn't have the dye I wanted and I just didn't get round to it. But alas... here it is! The set of pictures above is after I used 'schwarzkopf live xxl max blonde 00B' what a mouthful! I left the dye on for the allocated time and put a shower cap on (probably not the best idea) I thought that this dye would just lighten my hair a shade lighter so I thought wearing the shower cap would increase it's lightening power from the heat on my head. However when taking a look under the shower cap shortly before washing it off, I was a bit shocked to see my roots were bright yellow/ ice blonde and the rest of my hair was a gingery blonde, and despite using 2 bottles of the product because I have longish hair, it was still slightly patchy, but this is probably due to me not applying it very well.
After drying my hair I was a bit shocked to see how bright it was, and very yellow and dry too! I could have cried, but my Mum said she would buy me some new hair dye in the morning.
(Excuse my frizzy hair but I left it to dry naturally, and don't want to use any heat on it for a while so YAH KNOW!)
Before putting this new Nice n easy dye on my hair I was really considering putting a deep brown dye on my hair to cover the mess I had made! But I had researched about brassy blonde hair, and found out that I needed to put an 'ash' shade dye on my hair to counteract the brassiness. So this time my Mum applyed the dye for me (after seeing my attempt it was for the best)! When it was on my hair I was really worrying because it looked very ginger, but lets be honest... It couldn't have looked any worse than before. So I left it on again for the allocated time, then washed it off and left my hair to air dry (no more heat on my hair until it has recovered a bit) I quite like the results, it's still a bit of a funny colour but I am hoping it will look more natural once I have washed it a few times, and I am going to use my John Frieda shampoo that reduces brassiness. So here is my new hair, a bit damaged from the bleaching but alas... it is blonde!

Captured In Time

Photography is something that I love, being able to capture something forever, that you can look back on and reminisce on old memories! It is so special. Here are a few of my favourite photos that I have taken, they are mostly just playing around in the garden or at the park. I would love to be a photographer one day, and go around the world and photgraph pretty places. So I hope you like my photos.

I also just wanted to say that a few days ago I reached 100 gfc followers! I was so happy, I never thought I would even get to 50 to be honest, so it really did make my day. I am also sorry that I haven't done a few posts that I have been tagged in, I was tagged by a few lovely bloggers to do the Liebester award, but I have already done it and I didn't want to bombard everyone with tagged posts. But thankyou to those who tagged me, I really appreciate it!

Bed Head - Tigi products review

I don't know how often I mention this on my blog, but I absolutely love Bed head products! I have a few other products, such as the 'control freak' serum which I also highly recommend! But these 3 are by far my favourite products that I have tried so far, and a included them in a hair of the day post a bit ago and was asked if I could do a review of them, so here you go... I get round to everything eventually ;)

Ego Boost - This product is a life (well hair) saver for me! It's a leave in conditioner and split end mender that leaves my hair feeling so soft and it smells amazing. (I hope I don't sound like an advert hehe) I apply 1-2 pumps to the ends of my hair after I have towel dried it and brushed it through. I really have noticed that my split ends look nowhere near as bad as they did and it has also prevented anymore from appearing, which is just amazing as I hate to get my hair cut. It doesn't make me my hair feel sticky in the slightest, it just leaves it so soft and smelling delicious!

After Party - I love to use this product after I have just dried my hair or after I have straightened it. I aplly about a pea sized amount, which sounds very little but it really is all you need, because a little goes a long way.  It is a smoothing cream that adds shine, and again smells amazing! It basically gets rid off all of the little fly away hairs that are suddenly oh so noticeable when you stand under a bright light. This again is a product that I would highly recommend, especially if the ends of your hair feel quite dry and damaged. It makes my ends feel so much softer and silkier.

Headrush - This spray smells like heaven, if it came in perfume form... I would buy it! It is a shine spray that gets rid of static hair and makes it super shiny and according to Tigi 'adds depth to colour and highlights'. Now I haven't noticed that it adds depth to my colour, but maybe that works better for different hair types? But I definitely agree that it gets rid of static and makes my hair look really shiny and people have even told me that my hair smells nice, a slightly fruity but sweet scent, so it must work!

Overall I would highly recommend Tigi's Bedhead products as they have done wonders for my hair and are definitely worth the price! I know that you can buy sets of the products off ebay, perhaps if you didn't want to pay the full price. The bottles also last such a long time, and you get a good amount for the price.
